Win $5,000—and a Job!

Big History seeks to explore some really big questions. We want to hear from you on one of the biggest questions of all—What does it mean to be human?

Create a 60-90 second video with your answer to this big question and share it with the Big History Project.
Our criteria is simple: awesomeness. Make your video fun, engaging, and thoughtful, and you have a shot to take home $5,000 and an official contract to make 3 more videos for the Big History Project.

Have your answer?

Submit your video anytime between June 9th and July 8th. We'll select the best 25 videos to be shared on the Big History Project's (and Bill Gates's) YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook accounts. (That's more than 40 million people!!) From there our blue ribbon panel of Big History students and teachers will select the 3 finalists.

The prizes? The 2nd and 3rd place finishers get $1,000. If your video earns 1st place, you take home $5,000 and an official contract to make 3 more videos that will be incorporated into the Big History Project. Plus your winning video will be played on the Main Stage at VidCon.

How do I win?
 •  Be age 13 or older and live in the US or Australia.
 •  Create an "awesome" video – we'll be looking at how unique and creative your answer is, how well it works for Big History Project classrooms, and the overall fun factor of your video.
 •  Submit your video in the form below by July 8th.
